Tasting Notes: Purplish-red color. Fine, enveloping nose with aromas of cherries, blackberries, currants, and a spicy finish. In the mouth it is structured and long lasting, characterized by the beautiful balance formed between the alcohol, tannins and acidity.

Winemaking: Red vinification with maceration of the skins for approximately 10 days. Medium maceration to find the right structure-perfume relationship, which must be synergistic. Delicate pumping over, fermentation at a temperature of 26-28C. Subsequently the wine ages in steel for 7-8 months before bottling.

International Wine Report: The 2021 Lorenzo Melani Rosso di Montalcino opens to aromas of cherries and red berries woven together with spices, licorice, floral and earthy minerals. On the palate this is nicely structured with silky tannins and wonderful overall balance. It finishes up silky with fresh red cherries and spices lingering. This is already showing well and should continue to drink nicely over the next handful of years.
